Family of Late Dwaatoahene Donates to Jamasi Health Centre

The family of the late Nana Osei Tutu, Dwaatoahene of Jamasi Traditional Council, has made a donation of medical equipment to the Jamasi Health Centre and Pope John Paul II Hospital.

This generous contribution is aimed at enhancing healthcare services in Jamasi and its surrounding areas.

Mr. Osei Tutu Ansah, one of the late chief’s sons, represented the family during the presentation and emphasized that providing medical equipment is a crucial part of their commitment to enhancing healthcare for the people of Jamasi.

The donated equipment includes a pediatric airway adapter, test tubes, surgical blades, surgical masks, beds, medical walkers, and gloves.

Mr Ansah also urged the government to consider offering tax waivers to members of the diaspora who are willing to support Ghanaian hospitals with medical equipment. He expressed concerns about the challenges related to port services, which are hindering potential donors.

“There are some who want to donate, but the frustrations at the port are worrying them. They should be granted tax waivers. If someone wishes to contribute to a health center, measures must be taken to facilitate this,” he stressed.

Mr. Daniel Yaboah, Sekyere South District Health Director, extended his sincere appreciation to the late Nana Osei Tutu family for their generous donation, which will significantly bolster healthcare services in the Sekyere South District.

He also appealed for assistance in securing the Jamasi Health Center to ensure the safety of healthcare workers and patients.

“We have managed to fence a portion of the facility, but a part remains unfenced. We seek support to complete this project.”

The event was graced by Nana Okyere Mpiani, the representative of the Jamasi Chief, Nana Okumanin Adu Bonsu.
