Dr. Kofi Abban Donates To Muslim Players Of Asante Kotoko

Board Member, Dr. Kofi Abban, has donated to Muslim players of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko SC ahead of Friday’s Eid Adha.

The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah SWT and his readiness to sacrifice his son, Ismail. At the very point of sacrifice, Allah SWT replaced Ismail with a ram, which was to be slaughtered in place of his son.

This command from Allah SWT was a test of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness and commitment to obey his Lord’s command, without question. Therefore, Eid-ul-Adha means the festival of sacrifice.

The players who benefited from the kind gesture of the Dr. Kofi Abban include goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad, defenders, Wahab Adams, Habib Mohammed, Ismail Abdul-ganiu, midfielder, Mudasiru Salifu and strikers, Osman Ibrahim and Naby Keita.

Speaking exclusively to Opemsuo.com reporter, Sasu Danquah, Dr. Abban revealed that it is something small from him to make the players observe the sacrifice on the Islamic calendar gleefully.

“It is just something small from me to the players to enjoy the day well. They are Kotoko players who deserve something worthwhile especially a day like this.”

The items donated to the players include Cooking oil, Rice, Tin Tomatoes, Sardine and undisclosed amount of money.
